Project Introduction

  • Overall objective:

    Better trained skilled workers in the construction sector contribute to building the Green Economy and strengthening the Sri Lankan economy.

  • Project objective:

    The project partners can improve the quality of further training of vocational schoolteachers and in-company trainers as well as the image of vocational training in selected crafts in the construction sector, especially in the green economy, as a result of which it is increasingly in demand.

  • Vision

    80 % of the participating members of the CCI rate the training in the vocational training centres and the in-company training in terms of labour market orientation as improved by 2025.

  • Mission

    For selected training providers, the number of apprentices in the construction sector increases by 10% by 2025.

PROJECT OUTLINE

The capacities for further training of trainers were improved at selected training providers.

Training in relevant construction professions was improved at selected training centres regarding the requirements of ecological and sustainable construction.

Concepts to improve the social and cultural image of occupational profiles (with high demand from business and low demand from potential trainees) have been developed and first steps implemented.

Project Result 1:

The capacities for further training of trainers were improved at selected training providers.

Indicators:

  • E1.1:50 vocational school teachers received further training in technical, methodological and didactic aspects, as well as in the professional and practice-oriented equipment of training workshops for selected occupational profiles in construction-specific trades.
  • E1.2:50 in-company trainers were given further technical and methodological-didactic training for the practice-oriented training of selected occupational profiles in the construction sector
  • E1.3:Continuous training of trainers of selected occupational profiles in the construction sector is included in the strategic planning of selected training providers.
  • E1.4:In at least 5 activities, innovative, digital training methods are piloted by vocational school teachers and company trainers.
